This might sound weird, but I was watching Lassie out of nostalgia
(Way before my time really, but I still grew up on it.) and I noticed
everyone seemed to speak with a certain accent. I also realized that
it seems like every single movie and show from that time period has
actors that speak in the exact same way. Obviously they aren't all
from the same place, so is there some other reason for it? Did it just
sound better on the film at the time to pronounce words a certain way?
